  Is this a real doctor?

  Yes, and you meet them. Every patient has a 20-minute video consultation with a doctor registered with the Medical Council of Malta, who reviews your case with you and decides with you. There are no automatic approvals and no prescription without that consultation. And behind the doctors is a real clinic: Carisma Medical is run by the team behind Carisma Wellness Group, from Floriana.

  Is this legal in Malta?

  Yes. Telemedicine in Malta is a proper medical consultation, held to the same professional standards as an in-person one. Yours is carried out live by a Malta-registered doctor on a video call. If the doctor prescribes, it is a normal private prescription, emailed to you, that you collect at any pharmacy in Malta or Gozo. You do not need to be Maltese; if you live here and are 18 or over, this service is for you.

  Will anyone find out?

  Not from us. There is no counter conversation and no branded parcel arriving at your door. The only person you speak to is your doctor, on a video call you take from wherever you are. If the doctor prescribes, the prescription is emailed to you, and you collect at any pharmacy in Malta or Gozo, which means you can choose one where nobody knows your name. Your answers are held in medical confidence, they are never sold, and they never go to advertising platforms.

  What does it cost?

  The online pre-assessment is free. Two numbers pay for care: €59 for a consultation and €29 a month for what follows. Neither ever covers medicine, and the only other cost anywhere is the morning blood panel on the testosterone pathway, which the laboratory prices and charges rather than us. A consultation is always €59. If you want another one in a later month, that month is €59 instead of €29. The monthly fee is ongoing care between consultations. When your prescription runs out, ask for a renewal. Your doctor reviews it and, if it is still right for you, the new prescription is emailed to you. WhatsApp support when something changes. What differs between programmes is how long you stay, not what you pay. Weight loss and hair growth are sold as a 3, 6 or 12-month course with 3 months as the minimum, which comes to €146 for 3 months, €233 for 6 months or €407 for 12 months. Sexual health and testosterone are bought one consultation at a time, with no monthly fee running underneath. Mental well-being is month to month, so you can cancel anytime. If the doctor prescribes, the medicine is a separate purchase. Collect at any pharmacy in Malta or Gozo. You pay the pharmacy directly, at its own price. We never sell or ship medicine.

  What will you never prescribe?

  No sleeping tablets, no antibiotics on demand, no controlled medicines, and nothing without an individual review by a doctor. Our doctors decline requests when treatment is not safe or not appropriate. A service that never says no is not a medical service.

  What happens after I submit my assessment?

  You book your consultation. You pick the time that suits you, and the €59 is paid when you book, which is what covers the consultation itself. At the time you chose, a doctor registered with the Medical Council of Malta calls you on video and goes through your case with you for 20 minutes. If the doctor prescribes, your private digital prescription is emailed to you as soon as the doctor issues it, usually straight after the call. Collect at any pharmacy in Malta or Gozo. You pay the pharmacy directly, at its own price. We never sell or ship medicine.

  What if the doctor says treatment is not right for me?

  Then you hear that on the call, with the reason, and with where to go instead. That consultation still happened, so it is not refunded; what you get for it is a Malta-registered doctor's time and an honest answer. You are not put on a treatment plan, and nothing further is charged. Sometimes the most useful thing a consultation can do is point you somewhere better.

  Do I speak to the doctor myself?

  Yes, always. Every patient has a 20-minute video consultation with their doctor, and there is no version of this where you skip it. That conversation is the whole point: it is where the doctor hears your history in your own words, asks the things a form cannot ask, and decides with you rather than about you. What you avoid is the waiting room, not the doctor.

  How long does the whole thing take?

  Your consultation with the doctor is 20 minutes, booked for a time you choose, and the online pre-assessment you complete beforehand is what makes those 20 minutes useful. If the doctor prescribes, your private digital prescription is emailed to you as soon as the doctor issues it, usually straight after the call. From there, collect at any pharmacy in Malta or Gozo whenever suits you.

  Can I choose my doctor?

  Your consultation is with a doctor registered with the Medical Council of Malta who is qualified for what you are asking about. You cannot pick a name from a list, and your file stays with the doctor looking after you, so the person reviewing your renewals is the person who knows your history.

  Is it safe to be treated this way?

  It is safe for the things we treat, and we do not treat the things it is not safe for. A video consultation suits conditions a doctor can assess properly from a detailed history and a conversation, which is why the pre-assessment asks more than you might expect and why the call is never skipped. Anything that needs an examination, urgent attention, or a test we cannot arrange gets declined and redirected. If you are seriously unwell, contact your GP or emergency services rather than us.

  What if I get side effects?

  Tell us and a doctor reviews it. On weight loss, hair growth and mental well-being, that is what the monthly fee is for: ongoing care between consultations. When your prescription runs out, ask for a renewal. Your doctor reviews it and, if it is still right for you, the new prescription is emailed to you. WhatsApp support when something changes. On sexual health and testosterone, nothing runs underneath, so you book another consultation when you need one. Either way your doctor can adjust your care or stop it, and you are not left to work it out alone or to wait for a renewal date. If you ever have severe symptoms, seek urgent medical help first and tell us afterwards.

  Can you prescribe anything I ask for?

  No. You cannot order a medicine from us the way you order a product. You talk it through with a doctor, and the doctor decides what is appropriate, or that nothing is. Requests are declined when treatment is not safe or not right, and we never prescribe controlled medicines.

  Where do I collect my prescription?

  Wherever you like. If the doctor prescribes, your private digital prescription is emailed to you as soon as the doctor issues it, usually straight after the call. It is a normal Maltese private prescription, and it also sits in your patient portal. Collect at any pharmacy in Malta or Gozo. You pay the pharmacy directly, at its own price. We never sell or ship medicine. You can pick a pharmacy where nobody knows you.

• 15.

  Who can see my answers?

  The doctor reviewing you and the small clinical team supporting your care. Your answers are held in medical confidence under GDPR and Maltese law. They are never sold, never used for advertising, and never passed to advertising platforms. You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, at any time.

• 16.

  Who can use Carisma Medical?

  Anyone aged 18 or over living in Malta or Gozo. You do not need to be Maltese, and you do not need to be an existing Carisma patient. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or already under specialist care for the thing you are asking about, say so in the assessment; it changes what is appropriate, and sometimes the answer will be to stay with your specialist.

  What if I am already taking other medication?

  Tell us in the assessment, including anything you buy over the counter. It is one of the things the doctor is reading for, because interactions are exactly what a proper review is meant to catch. Being on other medication is not automatically a no; hiding it is what makes care unsafe.
